How to keep your hardwood floors looking great

Hard wood floors really are beautiful and can make any room look and feel amazing but sometimes they can start to look a bit dull if not properly cared for. There are a few simple steps you should follow to keep your hard wood floor looking its best.

Take your shoes off! Taking your shoes off before you walk on your hard wood floor is a preventative measure you can take to ensure you don’t scratch your floor of make it dirty. Consistently wearing dirty shoes on your floor can over time cause irreversible damage.

Vacuum or brush away any dirt or debris before mopping. Sometimes your floor looks clean but there are small specks of debris that you might not see and rubbing these in to your floor is not advisable. We also recommend giving your floor a deep clean regularly. You can pick up specialist cleaner for wood flooring or use white vinegar and water.

If over time you do notice some scratches, all is not lost you can fix them. Take a crayon matching your floor colour, smudge it in to the scratch and heat with a hairdryer. Once complete buff the area with a microfiber cloth.
