Where to start when looking for a home renovation

Are you going to take the brave step of purchasing a property to renovate? How much work is required for the property? How much will renovations cost? What happens if you run out of money? What if you regret the decision and waste money? What if you find a problem you can’t repair that will break your budget and ruin your project? How do you even start?

Find a property to renovate first, of course. As you examine the property, be on the lookout for A property where the heating, electricity, and water are at least already installed, and which has the potential to be expanded or converted in the future.

It is advisable to bring an experienced contractor with you to your viewing because they can spot structural problems or expensive problems, estimate the cost of the work you want to have done so you can determine whether you can afford it, and even provide advice on how easy or challenging it will be to obtain planning approval.
