Add a breakfast bar to your kitchen

Adding a breakfast bar to your kitchen will add space for eating, working and socialising. It also provides extra worktop space for preparing meals. There are several different designs and sizes available which means they can usually be incorporated into any kitchen large or small. When considering adding a breakfast bar there are a few things to consider.

Size – if you have a fairly small kitchen where space is a problem, adding a small bar can provide you a small dining area which may not otherwise be doable. For larger kitchens you can add larger bars which could completely replace a dining table.

Layout – Breakfast don’t always have to be against wall surface you can opt for a freestanding breakfast bar which works well in a U-shaped kitchen, and can form a natural divide between the cooking and living areas in an open-plan space.

Material – choose a breakfast bar that matches other features in your kitchen like your flooring for a simple design. Or you pick a contrasting colour to achieve a more controversial look.
